Solar Farms and Agriculture
Solar generation can be complementary to agricultural and horticultural activities. Solar grazing has been employed in the UK for at least a decade and since then, it has been successfully introduced in many countries across Europe, the Americas, and Australia. The dual use of a property for solar energy generation and grazing is an excellent opportunity for renewable energy companies and property owners to work together and maximise the productive use of rural land, reducing operating costs for all parties. The space below the solar panels allows animals such as sheep to graze freely. There are also opportunities to introduce beekeeping and other crops on the site to further increase the site's biodiversity and agricultural production.
